My stop motion. It shows a person’s activity in the site and parasite. He walks down the stairs and finds a interesting parasite. He climbs up the parasite gladly.
Constrast models
1. I combined brown paper and timber to finish my first model. It is a small size movable object. The feature of the model is that two pieces of soft material can be connected to a sort of harder material. The brown paper in spring shape can be moved when people rotate the cross of timber. To compare with the first object, a kind of soft connection material is my choice to finish the second model.
1. The detail junction of my second model is binding rope. The main material is corrugated paper that is a kind of hard paper compare with other flat paper. I cut open the middle corrugated area to make lantern shape to show tension sense. To fix it in a circle shape, I used string or rope that is soft to bind four different directions of model. In addition, the shape of lantern is a kind of development. A piece paper can be made into a 3D model with volume.
3. The development of material in another model is elasticity. I folded two bar of brown paper together to make a spring. Brown paper is also a sort of botanic fiber. The folding mark can be remembered on the surface. The paper will be damaged with too much folding. I used this way to save the memory of paper and change it into flexible at the same time.
My cake poster
To finish my poster, I tried to use a strategy that is when people see something, firstly, they look at the top left corner then goes to right and down to make a circle system. So that, I put the most important photo in the top right corner to show that it is a cake poster. I set the six smaller pictures on the right side and bottom to balance the poster because of the big photo in the top. The title is on the bottom but not on the middle top as normal that can make the poster more interesting. The poster is in clear and white background that can give people information directly.
The large diagram of machine
It is our original idea of improbable machine. Step1: The eggbeater packs up string which is connected to folder. Step2: The ping-pong falls down tracks. Step3: Ping-pong starts a chemical reactionst to change the balance between two bottles. Step4: The small car rushes out. Step5: CDs are falled down. Step6: Mentos starts fountain.
Collages
The first one is site- an open-air cafe. I cut 4 pieces of color paper to show the sunshades in repetition. And the middle one is in glaring yellow. According to human visual idiom, people will focus on the yellow area at first sight, then they realize things around it. It is a good way to make people pay attention to the site. Then I put figures of magazine and visitors to enrich my collage.
The second one is conversation. The black and white photograph is background, then I combined colorful figures and lots of triangle papers to present our shelter in the location. Because of the gaps, volume and small “windows” on our shelter, people can conversate with each other in the shelter, and also communicate with outside environment.
The last one is shelter. I put two pieces of our shelter figures on the background. From the collage, people can see the usage of our shelter easily and clearly. There are some people who are chatting in the background. The shelter provide a private space for people. And compare with black and white background, it is in color so that can attract attention.
